Elan Valley Mid-Wales

Just spent three spectacular days nestled in the Elan Valley and as you can see by the scenic shots below could not have had better weather, on the hit list were Redstart's, Red Kite and Whinchat and managed to nail all three, the last one thanks to being joined on our last day there by good friends Pete Walkden and his dad Alan, had a great last day, great weather, great birds and great company!! can't ask for more.

After two months of waiting for this pair to settle in our Woods and after supplying 33 Des Res Boxes, low and behold they have decided on an Old Oak Tree, but just glad they chose to stay and supply such great views. Male Female

This little beauty has been with us now for about seven days and spends every waking moment singing his little head off for a female to join him, has earmarked a couple of our nest boxes for her to view on her arrival, I just hope she gets here soon before he gets fed up of waiting. A gentle drive out after work, stopped as we saw a pair of Redstarts along the stream but they did'nt stay long, but low and behold looked over our shoulder and had these three Stags and one Hind trotting round the field, luckily they did'nt leave as quickly as the Redstarts and were quite happy for us to watch them chasing each other around, how quickly the weather can change we seem to have really bad days but then still get the chance of a lovely sunset, this one taken from the farm track setting over Bosley.
