Not Much To Report!!
Except for a few days away planned for next week in Scotland, not much to report at home, managed to get out in between showers to fill up the feeders and height alteration planned on both poles tomorrow, to encourage more species down, IE Woodpecker, only one entry into the charts and that was a Cormorant that flew over around 3-30pm heading towards Macclesfield Forest. hoping for some good photographic opportunities next week to include Crested Tits and Red squirrels.

Domestic issues to one side today, feeders are topped up and I am in my arm chair and ready for the first count of the day, 8am to 8.30am and for a change the sun is out, (probably won't last) these were the most visitors at any one time:-

5- Blue Tit
2- Collared Dove
1- Dunnock
3- Great Tit

With the Redpoll and the Goldfinch always coming in together, the new sighting of the Starling was viewed from the patio doors on top of a neighbours Conifer Tree, bringing the total now up to 19 Species. Did have a good number of Gulls go over but too quick to I D

The View Of Boars Leigh.
This is the front and side of the new property all backing onto the Bosley Reservoir Embankment now have around 60 foot to play around with, the side lounge windows and the rear Dining room window overlooking all of it. The Front has the sun all day, so will be dedicating this to encouraging Butterflies and will be planting appropriately. As it is a blank canvas at the moment, except for the established Magnolia Bush.

What A Difference A Day Makes!
7.45 am first look out of the window and how different two days can be, no wind, no rain but not one bird in sight, 8 am one Goldfinch on feeder with one loan Great Tit in the brambles and tipping down with rain, 8.30 am and wondering who has stolen all my birds, rain has stopped, blue skys and just one begraggled Dunnock in the brambles looking sorry for himself. Thankfully by mid-day the sun is shining and the birds are back, with Redpoll numbers up to 9, and new chart toppers for today being Mallard and Wood Pigeon bringing the count now upto 18. Disturbed the Buzzard on a short walk on the embankment and off he went perching in the field next door, need to investigate if this is one of his usual haunts, hope so!!

Sightings Now Up To 16!!
7.45am and already three Lesser Redpoll and Goldfinch feeding well with the bramble bush filling steadily with Blue and Great Tit, ready for their onslaught, one large new mover into the charts is a Common Buzzard who landed just behind my property in the small coppice, I am sure I have spotted Brambling on the bank with the Chaffinch but did not get a good enough view to be absolutely sure so will not add to count until I have. Now there are two poles holding feeders I have a good two dozen birds down at any one time with more still waiting in the wings, all species in good numbers except for the Coal Tit, have only seen one, not sure why.
The photo's today were taken out of the open window of my new property next door, the window only being around 3 to 4 feet away from the back fence and the feeders, have the keys and new carpets being fitted on Tuesday and officially mine from the 8th, definitely my last move (have said that before!!) but at least this one has not been forced. So I will be able to sit in my armchair and watch my own feeders and also the back Dining Room window opens out onto the embankment, so none of the feeders will need to be moved. By 12.30pm the rain and wind had moved in so could sit and watch Football Focus and now settled down for the Rugby!!!

Three New Entries Into The Charts!
New Entries into the Charts today have been Lesser Redpoll, House Sparrow and Wren bringing the total species seen now up to fifteen, not forgetting my small rodent of which there has been no sign of today, don't blame him with the weather as it is, however, I have been told in the past not to get too attached, as he could well be an Owl pellet by Now !!! Oh well we will see!
I was desperate to see what was visiting the feeding station and started my watch at 8.00 to 8.30am within this time I had 6 Goldfinch, one Wren, 5 Lesser Redpoll, a good couple of dozen each of Great and Blue Tits, Chaffinch, Robin and 4 Long-Tail Tits,
had to tear myself away from my viewing area as I needed more Bird Feed and as the numbers are getting greater I now needed to get another pole so I can have more feeders out there.
Back from my shopping trip and continued the count at 11.00 until 11.15, by now there is just a fine drizzle, in this time I had 3 Dunnock, one House Sparrow and the Lesser Redpoll number had increased to eight. There was a lull in numbers at this point with the drizzle turning into driving rain, so thought it would be a good time to go out and re-fill all the feeders, got absolutely soaked, hope they appreciate my dedication!!! By 11.30 even with the pouring rain the Redpoll, Goldfinch, Blue and Great Tits, were feeding really well and undisturbed, with Chaffinch feeding on the Bank, but with no further increase in numbers.
Sometimes they are quite happy to share or wait their turn in the bramble bushes, other times it looks like a really complicated game of tag, with them all trying to get onto the same feeders all at once, so the new pole will be put out tomorrow which should help the congestion some what. My viewing area is the only window overlooking the back of the property, the picture window in the bedroom however unfortunately it does not open and I was keen even with a very dull dank day to get a couple of record shots, the ones below were taken at around 8.15am through glass, not my greatest but as I say a record shot never the less and not one's used from my previous encounters elsewhere.

A Very Busy Week!
It has been a very busy week for both myself and my feeding station, I started by helping out the agency I am with on Monday, travelling a little further than I like to do, ending up doing four days there, I was amazed by my little cars fuel consumption and I know that is helped by having a longer journey but I think it may have something to do with the new boots fitted.
While at home I have had to fill the feeders every evening when I have arrived back, with leaving while dark and not having much daylight left when arriving home, I have not been able to see what numbers have been arriving but it must be good numbers because there is shelter from any strong winds, so there is very little wastage, luckily a neighbour has been able to keep an eye open for me and has confirmed they have never seen so many visitors before, and estimated at certain times there was numbers up to around 60 birds at anyone time and was certain that Brambling's were sighted as well!!! On the embankment. You can imagine this has excited me and as I have tomorrow off, my first job is to buy more seed and then I will be glued to my viewing window to check out what I can add to my count of visitors and even though the weather may not be favourable, I will try and post some photo's.
